Profile :

Umar Gul, the least-hyped but most successful and assured Pakistan pace product of the last few years was  born on 14 April 1984 in Peshawar of Khyber Pahktunkha . He is a right arm fast medium bowler who has played Test matches, One Day Internationals and Twenty20 Internationals for the Pakistani cricket team. Gul has turn out to be Pakistan’s forefront and one of the most excellent swift bowlers in the world . He is smart adequate and good sufficient to achieve something in all three set-ups. He also plays a role of nightmare for Pakistan team . Occasionally he shows a role of all-rounder . He played a great knock of 65* in test match against England and occupy his career best 39 runs in ODI.

Career :

He had played just nine first-class matches when called up for national duty in the wake of Pakistan's poor 2003 World Cup. He mark his ODI debut on 3rd April 2003 against Zimbabwe in Sharjah and catch his test cap on 20 August 2003 at Karachi playing against Bangladesh and started his T20 career on 4th September 2009 against Kenya.
He has gained fame as one of the most successful bowlers in Twenty20 cricket finishing as the leading wicket taker and bowler in both the 2007 and 2009 Twenty20 World Championship Tournaments. Umar Gul is the second most highest wicket taker (74) in Twenty20 International cricket, only after Saeed Ajmal. He won the Twenty20 International Performance of the Year award in 2013. In the 2009 ICC World Twenty20, he performed well, earning the shroud from at least one expert of "the outstanding seam bowler of the World in Twenty20". His five-wicket haul for just six runs, when Pakistan defeated New Zealand, won extraordinary acclaim. The spell made him the first bowler in history to take a five wickets in a Twenty20 international, and he held the record of best T20 bowling figure until 8 August 2011 , later on it was broken by other bowlers. Gul performed admirably, maintaining excellent discipline and getting appreciable outswing with the new ball in all 3 formats. He gained a lot of wickets bowled, in particular with late reverse swinging yorkers, he was also called as the master of Yorkers.
Despite being a bowler Gul can perform well as a lower order batsman and has proved his ability as a quick run-picker.Unfortunately, gul faced many injuries in his career . The injury would have ended many international career, but Gul returned, fitter and sharper than before
 every time.
He had hinted at that by being leading wicket-taker in the 2007 World Twenty20; over the next two years he impressed wherever he went, in the IPL for the Kolkatta Knight Riders and in Australia's domestic Twenty20 tournament. Confirmation came on the grandest stage. In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2008 campaign, he was purchased for a price of $150,000 to represent the Kolkata Knight Riders team. He is smart enough and good enough to succeed in all three formats and 2009 proved it: he put together a patch of wicket-taking in ODIs, on dead pitches in Tests (including a career-best six-wicket haul against Sri Lanka) and established himself as the world's best Twenty20 bowler, coming on after the initial overs and firing in yorkers on demand . He is not a one-format pony, however, and will remain a crucial cog in Pakistan's attack across all formats.

Kamran Akmal

Kamran Akmal Biography

Source link (google.com.pk)

Profile:
Kamran akmal an aggressive Pakistani Criketer  was born on 13th January 1982. He opens his eyes in a family in Lahore , Punjab . Kamran Akmal who has played Test matches , ODI and T20 For Pakistan Team as a Wicket-keeper Batsman.  He is a key wicket keeper of Pakistan team. But due to some scandals , indignities and around ruthless activities in team , he has been throw down out many times from the team . Kamran Akmal may well be the most forceful proof of cricket's changed priorities column  by Adam Gilchrist . Sides now search for an explosive batsman who can change a day, an innings, a phase with the bat and so long with keeping gloves.

Allegations And Scandals :
In the 2nd Test match against Australia , Akmal dropped four catches in the Australian innings, three of those coming from Mike Hussey. Hussey went on to score 134*and was involved in a massive 9th wicket partnership .Pakistan eventually went on to lose the match by 36 runs in the second innings. Later it was alleged that he, along with pace bowler Rana Naved-ul-Hasan were involved in match fixing, and were questioned by Pakistan Cricket Board and subsequently dropped for the Twenty20 series against England.
Later that in early September 2010 ICC sent an official notice to Pakistan wicket keeper Kamran Akmal telling him that he is under investigation for allegedly fixing the Sydney Test also.
Wicket Keeping Error :
Kamran Akmal has been constantly criticized for the lack of his stability in wicket-keeping. He has been dropped out many times due to his poor keeping. But due to the un availability of a decent wicket keeper , later some times Akmal  again has to comeback in the team to block the space of wicket keeper.

Career :
Kamran Akmal started his international career in November 2002 with a Test match which Pakistan won at Harare Sports Club. He played his First ODI against Zimbabwe in 2002 and started his T20 career against England in 2006.The purity of his drives and the strength of his cutting and pulling, particularly on slower subcontinent surfaces, has always held a strong allure.  And when it comes together as it did one January morning in Karachi against India - one of theTest innings of that decade - he makes it in the side as a batsman alone. He played a great knock of 100 runs in Mohali against India like a lone survivor.
His form against the touring English in 2005 made him one of the most important players in the team. Naturally, he is a batsman that plays lower down the order but has sometimes opened in both Test and One-day cricket. As an opener he has scored two back to back centuries in ODIs against England. Coming in lower down the order in Test matches, he played one memorable innings. He saved Pakistan from a score of 39/6, scoring a century, to a competitive 245 which helped Pakistan win the match and the series. His batting was highly productive in early 2006 as he scored seven international hundreds within the space of 6 months. Since his tour of England in Summer 2006 however his batting form dwindled and steadily become worse. His wicket-keeping also worsened and dropped many catches on both the England tour and on a tour to South Africa in early 2007. He then scored an international hundred in the Bangladeshi tour of Pakistan in 2008. He later moved to have some injuries and did not play for some days but later he was again brought into the team. Akmal was part of the Pakistan team that won the T20 World Cup in 2009. He was notable for his quick stumpings, dismissing 4 batsmen in one match against Netherlands.
On 12 November 2008, Akmal hit two consecutive 6s in the last over. As a result Pakistan won the first ODI in Abu Dhabi against West Indies.
On 17 July 2010, Akmal was appointed the vice-captain of the Pakistani test squad but later removed because of his alleged involvement in spot fixing.

Quote En Quote :

·         I would give Wolverine a set of inners [gloves] and back him to catch more with those hands.
Kerry O'Keeffe on Kamran Akmal after the Pakistan wicketkeeper dropped four catches during the second innings at the SCG

·         If his batting was as good as Don Bradman's, he couldn't score enough runs to make up for what he costs them with his keeping
Ian Chappell's pithy description of Kamran Akmal's glovework

Mohammad Yousuf

Mohammad Yousuf Biography

Source link (google.com.pk)

Profile :

This much is at least certain that few Pakistani batsmen have been as elegant as Mohammad Yousuf and fewer still have been as creative, as hungry to bat as long and bat as big Mohammad Yousuf was born on 27th August 1974 in Lahore , Punjab . He belongs to a family who  had converted from Hindu low caste bilmiki to Christianity. His father Youhana Maseeh worked at the railway station, the family lived in the nearby Railway Colony. As a boy, he couldn't afford a bat and so swatted his brother's taped tennis ball offerings with wooden planks of various dimensions on surfaces masquerading as roads.  Yousuf, hailing from poor background, was plucked from the obscurity of a tailor's shop in the slums of the eastern city of Lahore to play a local match in the 1990s. His well-crafted shots attracted attention and he rose through the ranks to become one of Pakistan's best batsman. Prior to his conversion to Islam in 2005, Yousuf was one of only a few Christians to play for the Pakistan cricket team.

Career :

Mohammad Yousuf is a right handed slight aggressive player who always needs to play big innings and stay on crease as long as possible. Mohammad Yousuf played for Pakistan Team in all three formats in Test matches , ODIs and in nearly T20 also. He made his Test debut against South Africa at Durban and One Day International debut against Zimbabwe at Harare. At his best, watching Yousuf bat is an uncomfortably tranquil experience, especially among the traditional chaos of a Pakistan batting order. He has a dangerously high back lift, which makes every shot he plays, a late, unhurried afterthought, but a beautiful one. in November 2006, Muhammad Yousuf achieved the 10th highest ever figure in ICC's test batting rating. His rating of 933 gave him a personal best of 2nd place in the rankings behind Ricky Ponting and was the 3rd highest ranking of any current player as well as the highest for any batsmen from Asia.
He has scored over 9,000 One Day International runs at an average above 40 (2nd highest batting average among Pakistani batsmen after Zaheer Abbas) and over 7,000 Test runs at an average above 50 (highest batting average amongst all Pakistani batsmen) with 24 Test centuries. He has the record of scoring the most runs without being dismissed in the One Day International match, with a total of 405 runs against Zimbabwe in Zimbabwe in 2002–2003. He has also scored a 23-ball fifty and a 68-ball hundred in One Day International. In Test match, he has scored a 27-ball fifty, which is 3rd fastest by any player. He was the top scorer during the successive years of 2002 and 2003 in the world in One Day International match. In 2004, he scored 111 runs against the Australians in the Boxing Day Test. In December 2005, he scored 223 runs against England at Lahore, also earning him the man of the match award. Seven months later in July 2006, when Pakistan toured England, he scored 202 runs and 48 in the first Test, again earning himself the man of the match award. He followed up with 192 in the third Test at Headingley and 128 in the final Test at The Oval. A year that started on a promising note, Yousuf carried it forward to break two world records both held earlier by former West Indian batsman Viv Richards. The 32-year-old, Pakistani batsman achieved an unparalleled 1788 runs in just 10 Test matches with the help of twelve centuries which became his second world record. Yousuf is known for his ability to score runs at exceptional rate through his great technique and composed strokeplay. Although capable of hitting the ball hard, Yousuf is quick between the wickets, although he is prone to being run out. Age, run-ins with the board since, and ill-advised flirtations with the ICL and captaincy dimmed his aura but the worst came in March 2010, when the PCB imposed a life-ban on him, along with Younis Khan as a part of its unprecedentedly harsh sanctions on senior players from the ill-fated tour of Australia. Yousuf's was overturned in 2010. If there had been a nagging doubt that he often withered when the heat was on - and the story of his rise from extremely humble backgrounds as a member of a minority religion should've wiped those away anyway - it was erased here. Yousuf announced his return to International Cricket and yet we see another great player of Pakistan resign from cricket.
